Lamar Smith

Lamar Smith is an award-winning builder and real estate developer based in Richmond Hill. His company builds over 300 homes a year from Bluffton, South Carolina and all along the coast of Georgia to the Florida line.

He has served as the President of both the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah and the Home Builders Association of Georgia. Lamar was inducted in the Georgia Homebuilders Hall of Fame in 2020. In addition, he recently served as Land Development Chairman for the National Association of Homebuilders.

Lamar founded Operation Hero House, a 501(c)3, to provide a mortgage free home to a service member wounded in the War on Terror. Lamar and his family host an annual quail hunt for the Wounded Warriors Retreat at his farm in Tattnall County as well.

He and his wife, Edie, currently live in Richmond Hill, Georgia where he is active in his community and his church and enjoys quail hunting, golf, traveling and piloting his own airplane.
